The Green Belt combats climate change by providing clean air and recreational spaces. Policies like DS1 are essential for preserving these landscapes, which enhance quality of life for our community.
Maintaining our Green Belt is integral to combating climate change. These areas serve as vital lungs for our district, absorbing CO2 and providing clean air. With increasing urbanisation, policies like DS1 must be enforced to preserve these essential landscapes. The Green Belt not only helps regulate our climate but also offers residents a space for recreation and connection with nature. The decision to protect it is not just beneficial for the environment but also for the quality of life for all community members. The future of our district depends on the actions we take today.

While protecting the Green Belt is vital, Policy DS1's excessive rigidity may ignore opportunities for community growth. A more open-minded approach towards these areas is recommended to balance progress and environmental care.
I appreciate the need to protect our Green Belt, but, honestly, Policy DS1 seems excessive and inflexible. There are areas of the Green Belt that are scarcely used and, rather than strictly adhering to protection, we should be able to consider alternative uses that still respect the environment. The world is changing, and so are the needs of our community. If we ignore these transformations for the sake of policy rigidity, we risk isolating ourselves from progress. A more open-minded perspective could lead to community enrichment and environmental enhancement working hand-in-hand.
