Policy PS1 should be completely rewritten. It currently does not take account of the national policy on meeting all housing needs and falls short of the standard set by the council's own Local Plan of 2018.

Self build and custom housing needs more detailed provision in this plan. Currently it is completely inadequate and will not meet the needs of local residents. The district's infrastructure will also not support these plans.

Policy PS2 is inadequate in its current form. The listed elements are not exhaustive, which they should be. This policy should include reference to the villages plan, the strategic centres strategy and the new woodland identification and protection document. With those added this could potentially become a cogent plan that the council can use for years to come.
