It is imperative that local planning authorities strengthen their collaboration when addressing strategic matters that affect multiple jurisdictions. Unmet housing and employment needs are issues that cannot be tackled in isolation; they require a unified approach. In my own neighbourhood, I've witnessed the consequences of failing to cooperate. This not only leads to housing shortages but also a lack of job opportunities for our residents. By working together, authorities can create cohesive plans that address the pressing needs of our communities, ensuring that we remain competitive and can accommodate the growth we all anticipate. Additionally, fostering dialogue between the authorities can also lead to innovative solutions that benefit everyone involved. I wholeheartedly believe this proposal will lead to a more sustainable future for our region.
