In light of the various challenges that local authorities currently face, it is crucial for them to collaborate extensively on strategic cross-boundary matters. I've observed a serious disconnect that has ramifications not only for housing and employment but also for the broader fabric of our communities. It is disappointing to see potential employment opportunities lost simply because various councils could not align their goals. The gap in meeting the housing and employment needs is not just an administrative issue, but one that affects real lives daily. If we commit to a framework that encourages mutual cooperation and open communication, we’ve got a chance to drastically improve our collective situation. Through this proposal, I foresee a much brighter and more cooperative future for our region.
