It is with a heavy heart that I must express my dissatisfaction with the Preferred Options 2021, particularly regarding the lack of focus on environmental sustainability. The plans seem to push forward with development without adequately accounting for the impact on local ecosystems and biodiversity. During the previous consultations, the cry for greener policies and sustainable practices failed to resonate, and this latest iteration appears to overlook vital commitments to reducing carbon footprints and enhancing sustainability in construction practices. Our community deserves to thrive in an environment that respects and preserves nature, yet the current proposal seems woefully insufficient in committing to these principles. I would like to see a robust strategy that genuinely promotes sustainable development, including the preservation and enhancement of green infrastructure.
