Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Concerns regarding the policies map focus on unbridled growth threatening environmental sustainability and community quality of life. The reliance on digital formats raises accessibility issues, potentially alienating residents. A call is made for more public consultations to ensure the map reflects local needs and priorities.

Testun llawn:

I’ve been reviewing the new policies map, and I must articulate my unease about how it seemingly promotes unbridled growth rather than sustainable development for our fair community. The polices appear to disregard pressing environmental concerns, such as the potential strain on already overburdened transport systems and natural habitats. I appreciate that growth is vital from an economic perspective, but it should never come at the cost of local biodiversity or quality of life. The emphasis on an electronic map raises accessibility issues as not everyone is digitally literate. Many residents still prefer traditional formats, and this could leave those with less access to technology behind.

Furthermore, the lack of engagement with local communities during the map's formulation makes me question its effectiveness to reflect our true needs and concerns. I strongly believe a more inclusive approach would yield better results, ultimately leading to a happier and healthier community. Policy makers should consider local wishes rather than a blanket approach driven by ‘growth for growth's sake.’

Thus, I implore the council to conduct further public consultations before finalising the policies map to ensure it serves our community's interests.

Initially, I hesitated to voice concern since I presumed the council would solicit public opinions widely before deciding.

Participation in the oral hearing to express my views is crucial, as I believe a diverse range of opinions must emerge to foster a healthy policymaking environment.
