Example Consultation Document
Chapter 6 - Policy Maps
If your document includes maps then a useful tool for online consultations is the OpusMap feature which allows dynamic maps to be used as part of the consultation process. By clicking on the map icon next to a policy (or other comment point) a dynamic map appears for a public user to view. The maps are configurable – the area and features can be set to your requirements. This allows a much greater level of control as to what a user can view on a map than a static image and can further enhance the user experience by showing various layers with more information that can be turned on or off via the map controls. If you would like more information on OpusMap then please get in touch with us as this feature is not part of the standard OpusCon2 setup.
Below is an example of a policy with an associated map. Click on the white map icon to open the map; there is a blue comment icon for commenting on the policy too.
Policy P1 Bitteswell with Bittesby CP Comment View responses
The parish has a site which consists of a former industrial area which has now been cleared. The site is relatively flat with large areas of concrete hardstanding. The site boundaries are mainly formed of strong tree lines and other vegetation. There is a proposal for more housing on this site.
Policy P2 Somerby CP Comment View responses
This is a sustainable site located adjacent to the settlement boundary and close to nearby services and facilities including a railway station, with a frequent service. The site would deliver an estimated 50 dwellings but will need a sensitive design to mitigate the significant landscape and visual impacts.
Policy P3 Twyford and Thorpe CP Comment View responses
This site is on a public transport corridor plus close to local services and facilities including a primary school. It will deliver an estimated 22 dwellings, but require an appropriate layout and design to address topography and proximity to a Conservation Area.
